Harvest Harmony: Create a Fall Floral Masterpiece

Tuesday, September 15 @ 5:15 pm to 7:00 pm EDT
Free
Date: Tuesday, September 15, 5:15 p.m. in the Career Services Library (Room 3-108)  This craft project features a fall harvest floral arrangement created by arranging artificial autumn leaves, grasses, berries, pinecones, and floral stems into a decorated rectangular container. This session will teach you how to fold a round placemat into the shape of a vase using 1 of 2 methods. Participants can explore color coordination, balance, texture, and seasonal design while creating a colorful and festive wall decoration. The wall decor is composed of artificial fall foliage in shades of gold, orange, rust, burgundy, green, and brown. Several large maple style leaves extend upward, creating height and a cascading, natural appearance. Tall, narrow green grass stems rise vertically through the center of the arrangement. Mixed throughout the design are small berry clusters in dark red and burgundy tones, pinecone accents, variegated leaves in autumn colors, sprigs of purple lavender-like flowers, greenery and trailing stems that extend outward from the container. The arrangement is housed in a tall rectangular dark brown vase made from a folded round placemat. Decorative white lace trim is wrapped around the center and tied into a small bow on the front. Materials:
  • Various autumn leaves, berries and embellishments
  • Round placemat
  • Decorative ribbon
  • Hot glue
  • Hanging cord
