Travels with Tiberius: Holiday Party

December 10, 2024

The annual holiday party at the Brighton Campus featured a special guest – Tiberius! Our beloved mascot decided to join the fun with faculty and staff last Thursday, December 5. The party featured holiday food, treats, music, and prizes.

We talked to Tiberius about some of the highlights!

What was your favorite part of the party?

I can only pick one?  I will then have to say the food! There was so much to choose from: sushi, a charcuterie board, salmon mousse, beef sandwiches with au jus, pot stickers, pasta, and, of course, cookies!

Out of all of the food, what was your favorite?

I have a sweet tooth, and dessert is always my favorite! I liked that you could decorate your own cookies or try a variety of ready-made ones.

Would you recommend the party to those who didn’t attend this year?

Yes! It was a great way to see people I don’t normally see and again, eat great food! One piece of advice, however, try not to get too close to the canned heat under the food pans – you could get burned!

What is your favorite part about this time of year?

Aside from the food, of course, I love that it is a time when people come together and just celebrate being with each other. I also like snow, even though it tends not to agree with my body type.

Tiberius also wanted to take the time to say Happy Holidays to the MCC community with his very own holiday card!

Holiday photo card with text: Happy Holidays! From your favorite mascot, Tiberius

Square photo collage with “Happy Holidays” written at the top. The collage has a row of five photos side-by-side with attendees at the party holding the paper-sized cutout of Tiberius, the MCC mascot. There is also a row of photos below that row that includes photos of Tiberius, the paper-sized cut-out in a tree with lights, in front of a hot food pan of mini-beef sandwiches, Tiberius being held by one of the Chefs with two other chefs on either side, Tiberius in front of the drink station and Tiberius on a table with a white table cloth, and ball ornaments.
