Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation to Receive MCC Foundation’s Salute to Excellence Award

Event will recognize organization for nurturing RCSD children, strengthening the workforce pipeline in high-need sectors, and creating opportunities for economic/social mobility
WHAT: The Monroe Community College Foundation will present the Salute to Excellence award to the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation for responding to and investing in the needs of thousands of children and students in the K-20 pipeline and beyond and creating opportunities for economic and social mobility through its support of innovative approaches to workforce development.
The Salute to Excellence event will recognize the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation for its philanthropic support of the Finger Lakes Workforce Development Center from concept to completion and for its continued investment in increasing the pool of skilled technicians and providing upward opportunities for residents across all ZIP codes in the region.
The event will also honor the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation for its philanthropic support of hundreds of Rochester-area children and teens participating in the annual Be A Healthy Hero Summer Camp supported through the Rochester Area Community Foundation’s Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation Legacy Fund for Youth Sports.Through a cumulative $5.4 million investment in students and their success over the years, the Foundation’s gifts provide scholarships and bolster innovative programs, including fast-track offerings and microcredentials.
This year’s event coincides with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the MCC Foundation.

WHEN: Wednesday, Dec. 6. Reception begins at 5:30 p.m.; dinner and award ceremony begin at 6:30 p.m. The Salute to Excellence award will be presented to David O. Egner, president & CEO of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation. Induction of four local business and community leaders into the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame will occur throughout the event.
