“September 11, 2023, marks the 22nd year that students, faculty, and members of our Monroe Community College community will gather to remember the lives lost and to honor the heroism shown on that day.

“We will gather at the September 11th  Remembrance Walk on our Brighton campus, a Walk that emerged out of the caring and compassionate spirit of student leaders in 2002 who wanted to memorialize the tremendous sacrifices made on that clear fall day. As those before them, today’s student leaders continue the commitment to ensure the events on September 11, 2001, are not forgotten.

“As the daughter of a Korean War veteran, I join with the College community in remembering those we lost on that day and paying tribute to heroic first responders and service members who answered the call of duty to ensure our safety and freedom.”
