“On behalf of the entire college community, I would like to express our deep gratitude to MCC Public Safety and Brighton Police Department personnel who quickly responded to Tuesday’s incident on the Brighton Campus. MCC Public Safety followed protocol and swiftly resolved the situation, preventing any threat or danger to the campus community.

“Possession or use of any dangerous or deadly weapon without official authorization is illegal and banned at MCC. I want to assure all students and employees that there is nothing more important than your health and safety. We fiercely guard your right to a safe learning and working environment, and we remain committed to ensuring that for you and for the Greater Rochester community.

“As part of our protocol, MCC continues to regularly review systems, processes and security measures to ensure we are doing all we can to keep you safe. MCC Public Safety remains proactive in ensuring an effective, swift response to any incident. We ask the MCC community to immediately contact Public Safety at (585) 292-2911 if you suspect anything out of the ordinary.

“Thank you for doing your part to help keep MCC safe.”
