2021 Student Art Exhibition

Due to campus restrictions related to the COVID pandemic, the 2021 Student Art Exhibition has been moved to a virtual format. Each student was allowed to enter two works that were created while a student at Monroe Community College. 

The exhibition was juried by Bradley Butler, an MCC alum who is the Executive Director and Gallery Curator of Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs, NY

This is a Japanese-style collage made of shredded paper. In this artwork, the floor, cherries, and most of the beams are made by shredded paper and painted with warm colors by watercolor. The piece is designed as a room where cats are occupying the space, looking happy and snacking on various foods.
The piece is a greysacle design showing intense contrast between a white triangle and a black background. The triangle is at an odd angle, with various lines and other triangles crossing in front of it. The white triangle is framed by a grid or rectangular shapes in mixed grey shades. The black lines crossing the triangle extend into a grid pattern.
