(You may need to create this folder if it doesn&#8217;t already exist.)\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Replace &#8220;<em>[username]<\/em>&#8221; with your name, such as &#8220;jsmith&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\t<li>After copying the templates, open Microsoft Word. If you don\u2019t see a Personal option link when choosing a template for a New document, the file location on the computer isn\u2019t mapped. To map the location:\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha;\">\n\t<li>Go to File &gt; Options &gt; Save<\/li>\n\t<li>In the &#8220;Default personal templates location,&#8221; enter &#8220;C:\\Users\\<em>[username]<\/em>\\Documents\\Custom Office Templates\\&#8221;. (You can copy this path from Windows Explorer by opening the folder and copying the address in the field above the file list.)<\/li>\n\t<li>Click &#8220;OK&#8221; to save your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\t<li>Select one of the MCC templates to create your new document.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Adding Templates to Existing Documents<\/h2>\n<p>If you already started a document or are updating an existing document, you can still apply one of the MCC templates.<\/p>\n<h3>Add the Developer Tab to the Top Ribbon<\/h3>\n<p>If you do not see the developer tab in the top ribbon, it can easily be added.<\/p>\n<ol>\n\t<li>Go to File &gt; Options.<\/li>\n\t<li>Select Customize Ribbon.<\/li>\n\t<li>Under Main Tabs, select the Developer checkbox, and then choose OK.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Adding a Template to Existing Documents<\/h3>\n<ol>\n\t<li>Open the Word Document you&#8217;d like to update.<\/li>\n\t<li>Go to the Developer tab.<\/li>\n\t<li>Choose Document template &gt; Attach.<\/li>\n\t<li>Browse to the Custom Office Templates directory, choose a template, and select Open.<\/li>\n\t<li>Check &#8220;Automatically update document styles&#8221; to apply the template styles to your existing content.<\/li>\n\t<li>Click OK.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Clearing Content Styles<\/h3>\n<p>Does your existing document not look quite right? Did the new styles only apply to some of the content? You can either select sections or select all and clear formatting.<\/p>\n<ol>\n\t<li>Highlight a section or select all (CTRL + A) of the content.<\/li>\n\t<li>Go to the Home tab in the tool ribbon and expand the Styles menu.<\/li>\n\t<li>Choose Clear Formatting at the bottom of the menu.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Also, when pasting from another source, choosing Merge Formatting in the Paste options should properly style the pasted copy from another document, if there is a matching style name in the menu.<\/p>\n<h2>Applying Styles<\/h2>\n<p>As you create and edit your document, use the Styles menu to format your text for everything from headings to bulleted lists.<\/p>\n<ol>\n\t<li>To apply a style to content, select the desired text.<\/li>\n\t<li>From the Home tab in the tool ribbon, expand the Styles menu.<\/li>\n\t<li>Select the desired style from the menu.<\/li>\n<\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Word Document Templates Accessible templates using MCC brand colors are available in the following folder:\u00a0M:\\MCC\\Information\\PDF Remediation\\Web Team\\Word Templates.
