On Tuesday, April 8th, Hamzah attended a meeting between members of Global Union, The Peace Committee, and SGA, to discuss a possible fundraiser based on the Myanmar earthquake situation. Following this meeting, Hamzah attended the Student Clubs & Orgs Council Meeting where he learned of all the club’s/ organizations current status and plans towards the end of the semester. On Wednesday, April 9th, Hamzah joined the ELC (Engineering Leadership Council) during their MakerSpace time, and got to learn about their current project, a music bot, as well as their upcoming boat race, which is to take place on April 23rd (tomorrow). After this meeting, Hamzah had the honor to attend the Phi Theta Kappa induction ceremony (as an inductee), enjoying a remarkable speech from professor Mark Samples and watching as Angelo fails to light up a candle multiple times. The ceremony was well planned and coordinated. Later on Thursday, April 10th, Hamzah checked on the Global Union Ukrainian event. The event had a fair appreciative audience, great cultural food, and fun activities. On Friday, April 11th, at 11 AM, Hamzah joined the Constitution Committee in organizing and making final plans for the constitution and by-laws, assigning tasks prior to spring break. Around 11:30 AM, Hamzah assisted Pride Alliance, Cabbages & Kings, and Tabletop clubs in organizing their event, The Spring Soirée, which ran successfully with a big audience and many enjoyable activities. Hamzah also had the pleasure to join the ending of the SWE (Student Women Engineers) workshop on Security and Social Engineering, where he learned of the importance of protecting your identity online. Lastly, from 1 to 3 PM, Hamzah attended the YDSA (Young Democratic Socialists of America) meeting, where they shared a preview copy of the third issue of the Monroe Left (Timber Edition). Furthermore, throughout Spring Break (Apr. 12 – 20th), Hamzah assisted Cabbages & Kings in completing the 78th edition of their magazine, assisted the Constitution Committee by completing changes to the by-laws, which will be later shared during the executive session, assisted the Muslim Student Association in preparing for their upcoming Tea Party event, and assisted the ELC in researching the concept of sound and how to program a system capable of understanding and translating outside sound into digital patterns.
