Reports
- President Romero
On Tuesday, March 18th, President Romero helped table for PTK to sell Bundt Cakes to members of the MCC Community, friends, and family. Flyers are posted around campus, and everyone still has time to order them. PTK is also selling its chapter merchandise, so if anyone is interested in that as well, you can talk with any of the PTK Officers to receive access to the form. It aims to fundraise for the organization and ensure a strong team for next year. On Wednesday, March 19th, President Romero will help organize the Women’s History Month Panel discussion alongside Culture Alliance. The panelists included Global Education & International Service’s Coordinator Christina Lee, Student Life Director Jodi Oriel, Chief of Staff Candice Baldwin, and Internal Auditor Brenda Ronan. All the panelists did a great job of sharing their experiences and giving any advice they had. On Thursday, March 20th, President Romero attended the monthly MCC Association Board meeting, where they reviewed a few items. The first informative and fun presentation from MCC Sodexo General Manager Kevin Willis was about dining services and some projects that will happen. Resolutions to approve new projects for the Residence Halls, Student Life Fee Increase, and the Softball field ribbon cutting, which will occur in a few minutes. Overall, it was a great meeting.
- Vice President of Governance Cole
Hello everyone, VP Cole has had a pretty good week! It started off on Wednesday, March 19th, when she attended the Women’s Leadership Panel hosted by the Culture Alliance. We had some great MCC leaders on the panel, including Jodi Oriel, Dr. Candace Baldwin, Dr. Christina Lee, and others. She was grateful to be there and to hear the wonderful and impactful stories of these women and their careers, as they have all worked very hard to reach their current positions. Overall, it was a fantastic event, and she want to give a huge shout-out to the Culture Alliance! Then, on Friday, March 21st, she attended a Constitution Committee Meeting, where we continued the process of reconstructing our by-laws and constitution, building on what we have already accomplished. Overall, it has been a pretty good week. Thank you!
