Reports
- President Leichtner
On 10/18/23 President Leichtner attended the Deliberative Dialogue Moderator Training which took place from 12:00-1:00 PM. This training is designed to give students the knowledge they need to run and moderate their own deliberative dialogues on campus. There is one more training on 10/25/23 which President Leichtner is going to attend.
- Vice President Romero
On Tuesday, October 17th, Vice President Romero attended the Club & Organizations meeting. He went to see all the updates and plans all the clubs and organizations were up to. On Wednesday, October 18th, Vice President Romero had lunch with Dr. Candice Baldwin at Food For Thought. They had a great conversation and discussed some possible things about both of their teams. He attended the National Society of Leadership and Success orientation that same day. He would talk to other MCC Students there and learn a little about them and this Honor Society. On Thursday, October 19th, Vice President Romero gave his report about what the Student Government has done to the Faculty Senate Meeting. Some of what he put had to do with the Student Lounge Contest, New Appointments, MCC Champion, 5kwalk/Run, Honor Flight, and Student Leadership Training. This same day, he attended the Public Safety Q&A at Canal Hall about the Rifles possibly being added as part of the equipment. He asked more questions about them, and it was a great discussion to have. On Friday, October 20th, Vice President Romero, Treasurer Guney, and Student Life Advisor Oriel attended the Second Finance Committee Meeting, Voting on Resolutions and they were presented with a slideshow.

- Treasurer Guney
On October 16th, Monday Treasurer Guney drafted the resolution for the Biology Club requesting funds for Rexpo, Rochester’s reptile and amphibian convention.
On October 17th, Tuesday Treasure Guney attended the Public Service Committee meeting where discussed new ideas and projects. She will serve the duty of researching food waste in other colleges.
October 19th, Thursday Vice-President Romero, Residence Hall Senator Crimmins, Faculty Advisor Sample, and Treasurer Guney held the interview for Gavin Harrigan.
On October 20th, Friday Office of Student Life Advisor Jodi Oriel, Vice-President Romero, and Treasurer Guney attended the MCC Association Finance Committee Meeting where they reviewed the Financial Audit, 403B (retirement plan audit), and the 990 with the new Auditors Bowers & Company. - Secretary of Governance Zin
Secretary Zin worked on the minutes for the last meeting on October 17th, 2023, to engage and provide reports on SGA activities to the public..
- Chief of Staff Allen
On October 17, Chief of Staff Allen attended the clubs and orgs meeting with the rest of SGA where they received club reports and information of events happening.
- Diversity Senator Scott
This week, Senator Scott has finalized the Vision 2027 report that she will be giving to Dr. Burt-Nanna which shows the student government’s fulfillment of Direction 4. This report encompasses the efforts of the community service committee of the Student Government Association and addresses how indigenous advocacy, environmental advocacy, food transfer networks, and global awareness initiatives have ties to Direction 4 of the Vision 2027 goals.
While completing this presidential report, Senator Scott has also been working alongside fellow members of the community service committee to brainstorm future initiatives that will better communal relationships on campus. Senator Scott reached out to the head of the hospitality department on campus to initiate a partnership for the establishment of the Student Government’s food transfer network. Senator Scott also reached out to Shirley Provost of the PRISM multicultural center to better understand how Student Government can create a more engaged and connected student community.
On top of committee initiatives, Senator Scott completed the flyer for the MCC champion award. This new award will provide students and faculty to highlight members of staff and the collective student body who have positively impacted the campus. Student Government urges campus members to show appreciation for those who deserve recognition on campus by submitting their information into the form attached to the flyer.
- Health & Wellness Senator Wrobeh
This past week Senator Wrobeh attended the monthly clubs and orgs meeting and learned a lot about the clubs of MCC and their initiatives. Senator Wrobeh met with Chloe Vazanna and Anita Davis to discuss her role as health and Wellness senator. The Health and Wellness Center has several informative and fun events planned, such as the Take Back the Night event coming up in October. Senator Wrobeh also met with the community service committee and discussed several initiatives that would align with the 2027 Vision such as maintenance of the pond, food restoration, and a food drive for Thanksgiving.

Clubs and Organizations Senator Garcia-Maldonado has no reports for this week. - Election Coordinator Barmak
Over the past weeks, the Student Government Election Coordinator, Barmak, learned about how to make resolutions for both appointing a member to the Student Government Association and resolution for funding requests. She worked with Vice President Romero to create two new resolutions for the Mapping Club and appoint Daniel as the Clubs and Orgs senator.

- Residence Hall Senator Crimmins
Over the past week, Senator Crimmins has been participating in the regular Student Government activities and recently joined the Community Service Committee that President Leichtner chairs. Regarding the Community Service Committee, Senator Crimmins is working with Treasurer Zeynep to research sustainability that other colleges have implemented, to see if they would work here at MCC. Senator Crimmins also volunteered to be one of the interviewers for SGA candidate, Gavin Harrigan.

Resolved, the Monroe Community College Student Government Association approved the mapping club’s financial request for $700 for an excellent opportunity for students interested in GIS to attend workshops as well as a presentation by a guest speaker, Dr. J. Kerski.
Vice President Romero called for a motion to approve the resolution.
Senator Wrobeh so moved, second by Senator Scott.
Discussion: The Mapping Club completed the request fund and met the standards of both the Student Government Association and the Office of Student Life and Leadership.
A vote was taken. The resolution passed.

Discussion: Daniel Kalumbwe has met all the requirements to be appointed by the Student Government Association.
