The event will feature a student keynote speaker for the first time in recent MCC history.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHEN: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>7 p.m. Thursday, May 20<\/p>\n<p><strong>DETAILS:<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u25a0 Incoming MCC President DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna, Ph.D., will deliver\u00a0congratulatory greetings to the graduates.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_548\" style=\"width: 190px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-548\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-548\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.monroecc.edu\/news\/files\/2021\/05\/Kimberly-McKinsey-Mabry_MCC-180x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"300\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-548\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr. Kimberly McKinsey-Mabry<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u25a0 The Message to the Graduates will be delivered by Kimberly McKinsey-Mabry, Ed.D., acting vice president of Student Services and an MCC alumna (class of 1995).<\/p>\n<p>Dr. McKinsey-Mabry believes her success in the field of higher education is a direct result of beginning her academic studies at MCC. After her first, fall semester at MCC, she became a first-time mom and returned to her studies the following semester, determined to earn a college degree. She holds a doctoral degree in executive leadership from St. John Fisher College, a master\u2019s in business administration from Metropolitan College of New York, a bachelor\u2019s in community and human service management from Empire State College, and an associate degree in liberal arts and human services from MCC.<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0 Inaugural student speaker Soleil Williams, who will earn an associate degree in human services, returned to MCC in fall 2019 after putting her college education on pause for six years. A parent of 5-year-old and 3-year-old daughters, she plans to continue her studies in social work at SUNY Brockport toward a career as a licensed social worker.
