Sangasy received an award for her video entitled \u201cMother and Daughter: An Immigrant Story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The idea for the short documentary-style video wasn\u2019t difficult for her to come up with. \u201cI knew I had a special opportunity to capture a personal story about my mom and grandma immigrating here to the US from Vietnam. It felt important to capture a story that hasn&#8217;t been told before,\u201d said Sangasy.<\/p>\n<p>KhaNy graduated from Brockport High School in 2023. She began her collegiate career at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she studied game design and was on the swim team. I would stay here if this was a 4-year institution. I tell everyone that I wish I had more time here because I feel like I&#8217;m not done. The support here is unmatched, diverse communities, whether it&#8217;s age, identities, or ethnicities, and so many opportunities for the students to network, further their careers, and more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>KhaNy will graduate from MCC in May, after which she will transfer to Ithaca College in the Fall to pursue its Television, Photography, and Digital Media program.
