{"id":1891,"date":"2025-04-09T09:38:46","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T13:38:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.monroecc.edu\/news\/?p=1891"},"modified":"2025-04-09T11:06:58","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T15:06:58","slug":"mcc-proud-meet-kim-delardge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.monroecc.edu\/news\/2025\/04\/09\/mcc-proud-meet-kim-delardge\/","title":{"rendered":"MCC Proud: Meet Kim DeLardge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kim DeLardge, Director of Student Engagement at the Downtown Campus, has worked at Monroe Community College (MCC) for 8 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI stumbled into higher ed,\u201d said DeLardge. \u201cI started in admissions at RIT because I thought it would be interesting to be able to travel\u2026\u201d However, DeLardge enjoyed working with students so much that she has remained in the higher education field for thirty years!<\/p>\n<p>DeLardge added, \u201cI love working with students and helping them on their journey to success and realizing their goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During her time at MCC, DeLardge has been selected for the President&#8217;s Emerging Leaders Fellowship, SUNY Coaching Academy, and the SUNY Leadership\u00a0Academy.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the President&#8217;s Emerging Leaders program, DeLardge had the opportunity to shadow all of the Vice Presidents, as well as the President at the time, Kate Douglas. \u201cThe lessons I learned during those shadow experiences have stayed with me to this day and I draw on them regularly,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>When asked what advice she would give current students or those considering enrolling in\u00a0MCC, DeLardge said, \u201cDon&#8217;t be afraid to ask for help! MCC is resource rich and full of caring, compassionate faculty and staff ready and willing to help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Outside of MCC, DeLardge is a member of the Rush-Henrietta School Board of Education and an active member of her church.<\/p>\n<p>DeLardge received her bachelor\u2019s degree at Syracuse University and her master\u2019s degree at SUNY Brockport.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Facts About Kim:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Courtney: If you had to eat the same meal at least once a day, what would it be?<\/li>\n<li>Kim: I absolutely love Jamaican food<\/li>\n<li>Courtney: What is your favorite movie?<\/li>\n<li>Kim: I&#8217;m a big fan of The Bourne Trilogy, Star Wars movies, and Coming to America<\/li>\n<li>Courtney: What is your favorite sports team?<\/li>\n<li>Kim: SU Basketball, Yankees<\/li>\n<li>Courtney: What is your biggest fear?<\/li>\n<li>Kim: U.S. will regress back to pre-civil rights era<\/li>\n<li>Courtney: Is there anything about you that people are surprised to learn?<\/li>\n<li>Kim: No, not really<\/li>\n<li>Courtney: If you could attend a dinner with any celebrity, living or dead, who would you choose?<\/li>\n<li>Kim: Michelle Obama!<\/li>\n<li>Courtney: Do you prefer staying up late or waking up early in the morning?<\/li>\n<li>Kim: Both!<\/li>\n<li>Courtney: Share the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you.<\/li>\n<li>Kim: So many lessons from my mom, but one is that \u201cSomeone out there would trade places with you.
