The Middle States Leadership Team would like to share the positive feedback we received from the SUNY Mock Site Visit.
On September 16 and 18, MCC participated in a SUNY Self-Study Mock Site Visit with a team from the SUNY Council of Assessment to prepare us for the upcoming MSCHE Site Visit in March 2026. Kirk Jones, Bridget Jacobs, and Keith Landa met with various members of the MCC community to provide feedback highlighting both our strengths and identifying areas where additional information may be helpful.
The SUNY team lauded MCC for being the first campus that they have encountered where employees are exceptionally eager to share their stories of the College’s continuous improvement. Participants in the Mock Site Visit were described as enthusiastically providing details about the work they do and more than adequately prepared to answer questions from the SUNY team. The statement “Monroe is a wonderful campus. Keep up the good work,” highlights the overarching review from the team.
For the March MSCHE Site visit, the SUNY team recommends that we encourage participants in group interviews to keep brevity in mind while answering questions. This will allow the MSCHE team to efficiently gather the necessary data while also allowing them to ask relevant follow-up questions.
The SUNY team also shared suggestions about the evidence inventory and data to include in the Self-Study Report. The College was encouraged to incorporate some of the success stories that the SUNY team heard in the group interview sessions. The Middle States Leadership team will work to incorporate feedback from the Mock Site visit and from the campus community in the upcoming months to meet the December 1st Self-Study Report deadline.
Thank you to all who participated in the SUNY Mock Visit Sessions. Your expertise and body of work help our campus shine.
