The Middle States Leadership Team would like to share an upcoming milestone with the Campus Community:
On September 16 and 18, MCC will host a virtual SUNY mock visit to receive expert feedback on the progress of our self-study. My thanks to all who have contributed to us being at this stage.
What is a SUNY mock visit? This is an opportunity for MCC to receive feedback highlighting both our strengths and identifying areas where additional information may be helpful, focusing on goals for the upcoming MSCHE Team Chair visit in September. The mock visit is conducted by SUNY members who are not part of the actual site visit(s), but are here to offer guidance as MCC prepares for upcoming steps within the reaccreditation process.
During this visit, the review team will focus on two sections of our self-study document: Standard III and Standard IV.
- Standard III: Design and Delivery of the Student Learning Experience
This section examines MCC’s academic programs and how we ensure student learning. Topics include staffing levels, faculty qualifications, course modalities (remote, online, face-to-face, etc.), general education assessment, and more. - Standard IV: Support of the Student Experience
This section reviews areas such as recruitment practices, student retention initiatives, cost of attendance, course placement, protection of student information, and additional supports that enhance the student experience.
Some of you have been invited to participate in one or both of these sessions. Thank you for your time. A full summary of the visit will be shared with the community afterward.
Sincerely,
Dr. William Dixon and Dr. Natasha Chen, MSCHE Self-Study Co-Chairs
