Dear MCC Community,
Accreditation is more than a mandate—it’s a meaningful opportunity to showcase who we are as a college. It reflects our collective dedication to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Through the reaccreditation process with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), Monroe Community College reaffirms that we meet high standards in academics, student support, operations, and strategic planning.
Therefore, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to our Middle States self-study process thus far—and to those who will continue to support this important work as we move forward.
Many thanks to all of the Steering Committee members and co-chairs. Special appreciation goes to our MSCHE tri-chairs, Dr. Candice Baldwin, Dr. Natasha Chen, and Dr. William Dixon, for their outstanding leadership and dedication in getting us to this stage in the process. I also thank Terry Keys, our Accreditation Liaison Officer, for his invaluable guidance and coordination throughout this complex and vital process, and Dr. Holly Wheeler, for her dedication in supporting MCC’s MSCHE draft to ensure deadlines were met and guidelines were followed. Thanks to theirs and your collective efforts, we successfully submitted our draft self-study to the chair of the visiting Middle States accreditation team on September 1.
Looking ahead, we will host SUNY and conduct a mock accreditation visit on September 16 and 18. Each day’s session will last two hours and will engage various stakeholder groups.
Additionally, we are preparing to welcome the chair of the Middle States site visit team for a campus visit on September 29 and 30. This important step will involve multiple employee and student groups and will help us identify any gaps in our self-study ahead of the full assessment in March 2026.
Thank you again for your continued commitment to this vital institutional effort. Your participation helps ensure a strong, inclusive, and successful reaccreditation process for MCC.
