Middle States Self-Study Update

Welcome back to MCC!

The Middle States Self-Study team has been hard at work over the summer preparing for our re-accreditation visit scheduled for March 2026. Much of this effort has focused on refining our self-study document and incorporating feedback from various groups across campus.

Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far:

  • Each Middle States standard subgroup has completed its standard write-up.
  • All write-ups have been merged into a single comprehensive draft.
  • Feedback from the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Board of Trustees (BOT) has been collected and is currently being incorporated.
  • A campus-wide draft will be released in September to gather additional feedback from the entire MCC community. That input will inform the next version of the self-study document.

Key upcoming activities in September 2025 include:

  • Submission of a draft self-study to the visiting Middle States accreditation chair by September 1.
  • Hosting SUNY and conducting a mock accreditation visit on September 16 and 18. The mock visit will run two hours each day, and various stakeholder groups will be engaged.
  • A preparatory campus visit by the chair of the Middle States assessment team on September 29 and 30. During this visit, multiple employee and student groups will be involved. This session is designed to help identify any gaps in our self-study ahead of the full assessment in March 2026.
  • Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the self-study process so far — and to those who will continue to help as we move forward!
