Living without health insurance or with inadequate health insurance exposes people to numerous hassles in daily life, financial catastrophe, and suffering and death from treatable medical conditions.

In 2024, St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center located in Rochester’s South Wedge neighborhood, celebrated thirty years of providing health care, mental health services, and social advocacy to uninsured and underinsured people in Monroe County.

Despite reforms in health care and health care financing over the last three decades, many Monroe County residents remain uninsured and underinsured, keeping them from enjoying good health and peace of mind.

The Institute for the Humanities at Monroe Community College invites you to hear Michael Boucher and clients of St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center on this topic.
