The company is most noted for their principle dancer, <b>Charlene Curtiss<\/b>, who draws international attention with her &#8220;redefined dance parameters and choreographic terminology of wheelchair movement work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"clear:both;\">\n<p>&#8220;Laughing Game played with centrifugal force as Curtiss swirled around Petroff&#8217;s center point and flew off in tangents to new areas of the stage. <b>Dr. David Shaw&#8217;s<\/b> musical collage of laughter, tinkling bells and a breathy electronic swoosh of sound emphasized the light delicacy and smooth-sliding quality of the movement.&#8221;<br>\n\u2014 <em>Albuquerque Journal<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Laughing Game, &#8230; a confrontation between two commanding presences.&#8221;<br>\n\u2014 Jack Anderson, <em>The New York Times<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The nifty, high energy piece &#8230; inspired spontaneous applause at several points.&#8221;<br>\n\u2014 <em>The Cleveland Plain Dealer<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-254\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.monroecc.edu\/dshaw\/files\/2017\/05\/GWUpic-150x116.jpg\" alt=\"George Washington University\" width=\"150\" height=\"116\">This is some of the music from <a title=\"Initiates download of MOV file\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.monroecc.edu\/dshaw\/files\/2017\/05\/WhatIf.mov\">George Washington University&#8217;s Promotional Video (MOV)<\/a>. The two other musicians were <b>MCC<\/b> guitar student, <b>Eric Katerle<\/b>, playing the lead parts, and NY vocalist, <b>Dee Adams<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"clear:both;\"><b>Symphony in Three Movements<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A symphony in the style of the twentieth-century composer <b>Peter Mennin<\/b> (1923-1983), reflecting his use of various compositional techniques such as tone clusters, polychords, quartal harmony, pandiatonicism, and pantriadicism.
